(New York, NY) – A new poll shows the New York City mayor’s race may be even closer than previously believbed. The survey, from AtlasIntel, gives Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani 43.9% of the vote, compared to Independent Andrew Cuomo at 39.4%.

The poll spoke to 2,400 voters. A poll done one-day earlier by the same outlet had Cuomo down 6%. And if the race was only held between Cuomo and Mamdani — without Republican-Independent Curtis Sliwa involved — Cuomo would lead 49.7% to 44.1%.

AtlasIntel says their poll has a margin of error of 2%. They also say they oversampled Republicans and Independent vote rather than focus on a higher Democratic turnout.

Early voting was robust before ending Sunday. Democrats represent 75% of that total, with GOP voters at 11%, and Independents at 15%. The AtlasIntel poll kept their percentages at 59% Democrat. Roughly 735,000 New Yorkers took part in early voting that ended Sunday, which is the most ever in New York for a non-Presidential election.
