Robinson Cano had himself a huge night at Citi Field on Tuesday as the Mets opened up their series against the Padres. Cano hit three homeruns in the Mets victory, doing so for the first time in his career and making himself the oldest second baseman to ever hit three homers in a game.

Cano went 4-for-4 driving in all five Mets runs. They defeated the Padres 5-2.
The Yankees won a thriller in Minnesota, battling back and forth with the Twins in an extra innings victory. Didi Gregorious provided seven RBI and despite the Twins loading the bases in the bottom of the 10th, the Yankees were able to escape thanks to some help from Aaron Hicks.

Former Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez officially announced his retirement from the NFL. He last played for the Washington Redskins and will move over an on-air college football position with ESPN.
