New York native Doug McIntyre “talks the news” for New York from 1-5 AM on Doug McIntyre's Red Eye Radio and every morning from 5-6 AM, as host of McIntyre in the Morning.
Doug puts a playful spin on the news as he also brings listeners the latest traffic and weather, plus live reports from Patrice Sikora of the Wall Street Journal and commentary from Rush Limbaugh, John Batchelor, and Mike Huckabee. He also enjoys occasional surprise appearances from Bernard McGuirk, producer and sidekick from Imus in the Morning.
Doug was born and raised on Long Island, and grew up in Huntington, Great Neck, Little Neck, Queens and Manhattan.
He started his career as a New York advertising copywriter, including the original Krazy Glue commercials and countless Broadway Shows, as well as Madison Square Garden, Frank Sinatra, Radio City Music Hall and Ringling Brothers. He also wrote comedy for standup comics, including the legendary radio team, Bob & Ray. A lifelong suffering Met fan, McIntyre grew up listening to 77 WABC and worked at WOCB on Cape Cod, which was owned by Cousin Brucie.
Named one of the Top 50 Radio Hosts in America by TALKERS magazine, McIntyre most recently hosted a popular morning drive radio program in Los Angeles at 77 WABC’s brother station, KABC. Doug has been repeatedly selected by his peers as one of the most popular and most admired hosts in the annual LARadio.com poll.
A favorite TV guest, Doug is a regular on CNN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight, Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect, and has made numerous appearances on FOX News Channel. Doug is also the host of Red Eye Radio
In addition to his love of talk radio, McIntyre is an accomplished television/screen writer and producer. He’s written for all the major TV networks, including the hit series Married…with Children, WKRP in Cincinnati, and Mike Hammer—Private Eye. Doug is married to actress Penny Peyser (Rich Man, Poor Man, Crazy Like a Fox, All the President’s Men), who is the daughter of former Bronx/Westchester Congressman Peter A. Peyser.
