A man that every sports fan has an opinion on – broadcaster Joe Buck spoke with 77WABC’s Mike “Gunz” Gunzelman about his new book, “Lucky Bastard.”
I asked him about well, everything – critics and trolls on the Internet and how he deals with them, as well as how Joe has been able to experience some of the greatest sports moments throughout his career – including the Chicago Cubs (finally) winning a World Series.
I’m really happy on how it came out because he doesn’t shy away from what he’s experienced, or the fact that he was given some early opportunities early on because of who his dad was, but in the end he says if he didn’t do a good job broadcasting, there’s no way he would be able to keep this job – the fans and bosses would have fired him along the way.
Also, I ask Joe about the NFL ratings decline and the news that MLB has reached an agreement with the player’s union and his take on the All Star Game format being changed regarding World Series home field advantage.
